As our “About” page explains, we are a community choir which employs professional soloists, conductors and repetiteurs. Although our partner orchestras have amateur members, there are also costs in their participation. We do not charge admission to concerts, though we do take a retiring collection, and members’ subscriptions do not cover all our costs.

Social and other events

In keeping with its community origins, the choir organizes a number of social events at which choir members can get together. Some these also contribute to the fundraising needed to make us sustainable, and some additional events of purely fundraising character are also organized.

Our first event since the pandemic started was a successful online quiz on February 26th 2021.

For our concerts, choir members erect and remove staging, and help set up the church for the audience and performers. After each concert, choir members contribute to a “bring and share” supper to which our partner orchestra, soloists and musical team are invited. Here are some pictures from the December 2017 concert.
